The year 2008 is going to be an amazing year for reggaeton music and it started well. Wisin y Yandel just released there new album: Los extraterrestres. The hit single: sexy movimiento is #1 on all latin chart and getting heavy rotation on La Calle reggaeton radio. Wisin y Yandel was also at Vina del Mar, the biggest latin music festival in the world. Alexis Fidos and Toby Love released a sexy Soy Igual que tu. That song melody is excellent, and in my book its one of the best reggaeton song ever. In a few months from now, Rakim y Ken-Y will be releasing there second studio album: The royalty. I really like Rakim y Ken y and i am expecting a great album from them. Another interesting news is the reuniting of arch enemies Don Omar and Daddy Yankee. I get the feeling it was all part of a marketing strategy profiting to both clans but who cares? I hope they will do a good reggaeton track soon. Arcangel had a strong 2007 year but now with the release of is reggaeton album thing seems to have slow down for him. New artists like dj Flex and Dalmata are bringing a new vibe to reggaeton music. Te Quiero from Dj flex is #1 on the latin billboard this week. I was getting a bit tired of that Arcangel Jowell y Randy vibe, its good to have new sounds. The biggest news I heard so far this year has to be the new Wisin y Yandel Don Omar album: El Triangulo de las Bermudas. Can you imagine a full reggaeton album with Wisin y Yandel and Don Omar! History in the making, I can wait to see the result.
