Which Garmin GPSMAP Should You Choose

Garmin is a brand that is popular among pilots. For several years now it has created various GPSMAPs that would help pilots become more efficient navigators. The Garmin 296 is one of the first portable GPS devices released by Garmin. It has 200-Mhz processor making it a very efficient device that would redraw maps in an extremely fast manner. Moreover, the Garmin 296 also has an Automotive Mode guides the pilot driving directions after landing.

Aside from the Garmin 296, there are two more Garmin products that are often used by the pilots namely Garmin 495 and the Garmin 496. The Garmin 496 has a more user-friendly interface than the Garmin 296. The details of the Garmin 496 were enhanced so that the pilot will have a better view of the area. Moreover, the Garmin 496 also includes private heliports as well as private airports in its database so that the pilots know where to land in case of unavoidable circumstances.

On the other hand, the Garmin 495 is similar to the Garmin 496. The difference is that the Garmin 495 does not have a City Navigator, making it less expensive compared to the 496. It has the same features, mapping and menus used for navigation. The Garmin 495 is ideal for the pilots who want a quality mapping device yet inexpensive at the same time.
