Dog training

Dog training is essential for every dog owner, beginner or expert alike. Beginning from Puppy training the new or even experienced dog owner will have to teach his dog from the day the Puppy arrives in his new home.
Potty and crate training as the basics will be followed by the commands, and of course the rules your dog has to obey. Make sure you and everybody else in contact with your new family member knows those rules and retains them. The young dog needs consistency and leadership.
You will have to establish a positive relation to your Puppy based on trust. Whatever occurs, the Puppy needs to know that you will handle the situation and make sure that your friend is safe. Physical contact is a must in the first weeks and month to obtain this trust.
Also very important is the factor of socialisation. Your dog needs to meet other dogs, other people, needs to be to a city centre, a shopping mall or other crowded places. Loud traffic, industrial noise and other sounds might scare a dog that is not used to that. Take your Puppy for a ride as often you can. Start with short tours and slowly extend them. A second person makes that exercise certainly easier.
Professional “dog trainers” usually do not train the dogs, but actually train the owners on how to train their own dogs. Although it is also possible to send a dog away to a training school, the owner still must at some point learn what the dog has learned and how to use and reinforce the techniques. Some call this a shortcut, but plenty of work is still required and training must continue over the course of the dog’s life. Owners and dogs who attend class together have an opportunity to learn more about each other and how to work together under a trainer’s guidance. Training is most effective if everyone who handles the dog takes part in the training to ensure consistent commands, methods, and enforcement. Classes also help socialize your dog to other people and dogs. Training classes are offered by many kennels, pet stores, and independent trainers.
Another very important thing is of course Dog care. Make sure your friend receives the necessary vaccination, sees the vet for regular checks, and take care of his skin and coat to make his life as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
